Modalities

The approaches we use — in plain English.

Every therapist draws from a few approaches. Here's what ours actually mean.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A structured approach that helps you notice the thoughts fueling your feelings — and gently try out new ones. Well-tested for anxiety, depression, and sleep.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
The gold-standard couples approach. It reframes arguments as the signals of deeper attachment needs, and rebuilds the connection underneath.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing — a structured way of helping your brain process memories that got stuck, so they stop running your present.
Brainspotting
A newer cousin of EMDR that uses visual focus points to access and process the body's experience of trauma.
Narrative Therapy
You are not your problem. Narrative therapy helps you separate the story the problem tells from the story of who you actually are.
Play Therapy
For kids, play is language. Our play therapists work in that language to help young clients process what they can't yet put into words.
ACT & DBT
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy — approaches that teach you to hold hard feelings without being run by them.
